Custom Made
Be part of a unique commissioning series!
Belinda Reynolds, award-winning composer and Suzuki teacher, is available for custom-composed piano duets designed especially for the talents and personality of YOUR student or child.
If you are interested in purchasing one of Reynolds' custom made compositions, you will be asked a few simple questions about the recipient's personality and character (energetic, slow, happy, mellow, dark, etc.), technical level, and musical likes and dislikes. Reynolds will then compose a unique musical portrait to match the child's particular style and mood, complement his or her skills, and challenge him or her to a higher level of proficienty as a musician. The child (or other recipient) will receive two signed, bound copies of the score, along with time-limited, exclusive performing rights.

Praise for the CUSTOM MADE commissions:
Hi Belinda. I just want to thank you for the very special piece
"Monica's Mystery", which Monica is enjoying. She says she likes it
because it is "so minor". I find that because it is not a standard
repertoire piece, it is helping her reading skills. She has to focus
more, because it is a little less predictable. There is a clear melody
line, however, which she has fun following. Thank you for increasing
her practice time so pleasantly!

Belinda Reynolds's duets for student pianists are treasures and
invaluable additions to my collection of music education materials. It is rare to find
a composer who writes music that is easy enough to play, but is still on
such a high level musically, AND is so in touch with contemporary
sounds -- the sound world that recent generations of players encounter and identify
with.
She avoids the pitfalls of other "children's" music such as being too
programmatic, cutesy, or juvenile. The teacher can even enjoy and be
challenged by the sound world of each piece. I recommend these pieces
with tremendous enthusiasm.

I was very happy to receive Belinda Reynold's series of piano duets for
young pianists.
These duets are a welcome addition to teaching material as they are
creative, playful and contemporary. Although clearly 21st century
music, her accessible melodic phrases against rhythmic basses are able
to speak and motivate today's student. The use of individual
student's names as titles enable students to feel a personal
connection to piano literature written especially for them. It makes
them feel special and this initiative of making them feel confident
about themselves also makes them feel confident about the music they
playing.

Belinda Reynolds has opened my son Ethan's eyes to the big wide world of musical possibilities for at least seven years now. She's been a tireless champion of a wide range of innovative teaching techniques, including even some wonderful duets that she's written specifically for her students to play along with her. We own a Disklavier, so we have the added advantage of Belinda's being able to record her half of the duet (or both halves independently) for Ethan to practice with when Belinda's gone home. He can play either half of the duet with her accompaniment or listen to her performance of the half he's perfecting! The music is delightful, instructive, innovative; all the things Belinda herself represents to us! Her warm all-encompassing embrace of all types of music and all types of students has made her a very popular instructor for introducing music into the lives of persons of all ages; even my wife greatly benefitted from Belinda's vocal instruction and encouragement in preparation for her adult Bat Mitzvah!

Belinda Reynolds' piano pieces fill an important gap in the repertoire.
My
piano students young, old, male or female always seem to love these
pieces
and work extremely hard in order to be able to make music with them.
They
are rhythmically both interesting and challenging, and my students love
to
improvise around the melodies. My students have performed these at
recitals
and many have been inspired to write their own melodies as Belinda's
students have. What a perfect way to encourage students to explore
technically and creatively then with these contemporary pieces.
